June 2024: Product Updates

Challenges: Engage and Reward Your Visitors

Challenges are a user-friendly digital passport technology designed to motivate visitors to explore more of what your destination has to offer. By completing check-ins at various locations, visitors earn digital badges and prizes. It's a fun and interactive way to enhance their experience and keep them coming back for more.

What's New with Challenges?

Category Milestones

Award digital badges and prizes for checking in at places within specific categories. With the new category milestones feature, you can set the number of check-ins and the required category to reach a milestone, incentivizing participants to visit specific types of businesses. For instance, you can create a "Foodie" badge for checking in at top food spots or a "Brew Hopper" badge for checking in at breweries.

Incentive participants to check-in at specific types of points of interest with category milestones.

New Progress Section

Participants can now easily see which badges they have unlocked and track their progress towards unlocking more in the new Progress Section. This visibility keeps visitors engaged and motivated to achieve more.

New Progress Section in Challenges encourages visitors informed and encourages them unlock more badges.

Support for Multiple Check-ins per Place

Challenges now support multiple check-ins at a single location to qualify for a milestone. This feature is perfect for creating scavenger hunt-style challenges or loyalty-building challenges that encourage repeat visits to key locations.

Challenge Milestone Reports

You can now export user reports based on specific milestones earned. This feature is accessible from the Challenge Insights report by clicking on the number of badges representing each milestone.

Guides: Curate the Perfect Experience

Guides allow you to create curated lists with a corresponding map for your visitors. Whether it's a themed tour, a list of must-see attractions, or a detailed itinerary, Guides help visitors navigate your destination with ease.

What's New with Guides?

Custom Categories

Custom categories are now supported on places within Guides and can be added on-demand. Simply click "Edit Categories" from the place page. To create new categories, first visit your Dashboard and click the Categories tab.

Add custom categories to places with the click of the button. Custom categories appear on the place page and as a filter on Guides and Challenges (more on this below!).

Category Filters

Category filters are now displayed in your Challenges and Guides, allowing visitors to quickly find places based on their specific interests. This new feature significantly enhances the user experience by providing a streamlined way to discover attractions.

All new category filters on Guides and Challenges make it easy for visitors to find places by interest.

Custom Places

You can now create custom places on demand within Guides and Challenges. This tool, seamlessly integrated into the platform, allows you to add unique locations that may not already be listed, ensuring your Guides are as comprehensive and personalized as possible.

Create a custom place in real-time for inclusion in Guides and Challenges. This feature is ideal for places that are not already in Google Places.

Visitor Hub: Your Digital Welcome Center

The Visitor Hub is the central hub for all visitor interactions on the Explore platform. It serves as a digital welcome center where visitors can access all your Guides, Challenges, trip planning features and navigational tools that they will need during their visit.

What's New with the Visitor Hub?

Custom Touch Icon and In-App Prompt

Upload your personalized touch icon through the Visitor Hub settings page, making it easier for visitors to locate the shortcut for your Explore Hub on their mobile devices. Upon their initial visit, visitors will receive a prompt guiding them to save the app to their home screen, featuring your custom icon prominently displayed. This simple touch makes your hub more accessible and recognizable.

Featured Categories on Your Homepage

You can now select and reorder the categories you want to feature on your homepage. Simply click "Edit" while viewing your homepage as a logged-in admin. This customization helps you highlight the most important aspects of your destination, making it easier for visitors to find what they're looking for.
